Ben-Gurion University – Formula SAE car

Undergraduate and graduate Mechanical Engineering students at Ben-Gurion University’s participated in the prestigious Formula SAE students contest in Italy. The students who designed and built their race car, turn to Aran for advice and we rose to the challenge.
Aran assisted the students in completing the mechanical design, preforming strength analysis and producing an intake manifold for the engine’s air system by polyamide 3D printing technology.
One of the challenges in building a race car is the need for a “weight diet”. And indeed by means of design and apt application of printing technology, we managed to reduce the weight of our part by 1.5 kg. The students took the honorable 12th place (out of 55) and our printed part met all of its objectives as a race car component.
