UFR – reduction of unmeasured flow, installed on the water supply line adjacent to the water meter. Protected by an international patent. The UFR changes the flow regime through water meters so that even low flow rates can be measured with a water meter.
UFRs solve the problem of velocity type water meters which have difficulty measuring low flow rates. 3/4” type water meters (used in Israel) do not measure flow rates lower than 12 L/h.
Main development challenges:
- Low quality of water around the world;
- Calibration for working with different water meters different types, sizes, makes, etc.;
- Giving the product a long term warranty;
- Adapting to different pipe connections.
Work included setting up an in-house assembly line, instructing and guiding engineers from foreign water companies, and collaboration with foreign manufacturers.
